Ticks + Deep Woods Off deer hunting.

There's been a whole lot of ticks around our camps, a downed deer that my cousin got with his bow was completely covered and his dog was bitten.

My question is will the Off! - Deep Woods® Sportsmen work well for them?
It says it's "Uncented" but do you think it will bother the deer?

It will work, flea and tick collar for the dog. I am sure the deer will smell it, but they will also smell you, no matter how much Scent-lock, sprays and other crap you want to bathe in.

Better then Lyme.
 
I would guess that deer would find bug spray offensive or at least suspicious. Not a natural scent and certainly not common to their home range. Is it better to smell of deet than to smell like a human, I don't know. Maybe we smell like a human covered in some kind of smelly stuff to a deer. I use spray to avoid the bugs when necessary and pay attention to the wind as I usually would. I don't use the anti-smell sprays.
 
Health before stealth IMHO... I believe Deet will keep them off of you. I'd use it to keep the ticks off, Lyme disease doesn't sound fun...

Can't say re. deet/deep woods, but..

Just remember if you do get a tick, remove very carefully, not squeezing the body, but rather, closer to where it latches on. Tweezers can work well for this - but don't bother if you're only an hour or two from town/med centre. Squeezing the body can force the bugs innards/juices into you; this is what may contain Lyme disease.

Seek prompt medical attention and BAG/KEEP THE TICK so it can be tested!

Anyone with superior KNOWLEDGE correct me, just going by my memory of the OFA 3 manual.
