Tight Chamber Scraping Brass

I bought a Remington 700 in .308 around a year ago. It shoots well and everything but it has always been hard on the brass. I have tried lots of different brands of brass but they all are hard to get into the chamber and come out scored even if they were extracted without being fired. I first thought it would be a headspacing issue but that doesn't explain why the walls of the case get scraped up. I don't know much about this kind of stuff so any help is appreciated. Thanks.
 
Factory barrel or aftermarket?
Have you smoked a case, then chambered and extracted it, to see where there is contact?
 
If it is a rough chamber, I smoothed a Savage .22 chamber by using a mop with jeweler's rouge and spinning it with a drill. Just be very careful not to overdo it.
 
@Donny Fenn1 It has an internal magazine. If I drop the round into the action (not pushing it down into the mag) and push the bolt closed it still scratches the case. I feel as though it is the chamber unless it is possible that it is the top of the feeding ramp.
 
Take the bolt out, and use a flashlight to inspect the chamber. See if there are burrs at the chamber mouth, or in the chamber. There is no way of knowing what a prior owner did to the thing.

Ok, try the polishing thing mentioned above.
 
a long shot but try to insert the round into the chamber without using the bolt ie use your fingers to chamber and remove the round and see if it chambers completely and comes out unscratched..
