tikka 338 winchester

Yes, i had one and it was extremely accurate at 200y. It could only handle 225g, 250g was TOO MUCH for such a lite rifle. All in all i am considering buying another one.

The 250s are too much in this rifle? I will be working up some 275gr A-Frame loads and am considering giving the 300gr Woodleighs a try too. It is all subjective - don't be frightened off by the recoil. All it takes is practice and you will be fine.

I have a Tikka Whitetail Hunter Deluxe in .338 WM. Awesome rifle. Smooth, reliable and very accurate. Also, it's got a beautiful wood stock.
It does kick like a mule but only at the rifle range. You will not notice anything when hunting. :D

If you are concerned about recoil, fill the stock with water for extra weight, if recoil is still a problem, the kids can always use it as a super soaker. Life is too short to use an ugly plastic gun, that will only feed through it's ugly plastic magazine, which costs $100 to replace.

tikka 338

thanks guys
recoil no problem I have shot also a 458 for a couple of years....
have one in 30-06 and like it very much....
was wondering on accuracy and handling
buy your responses it seems everybody is happy
tomorrow will be ordering
thanks Canuck

If you have a T3 in 30-06 then you already know they are a good rifle.
I had a 338, loaned it to a buddy to fill his Moose tag and rather than give it back, he handed me a signed blank checque...... I never imagined he had that much money in his bank account :D .
As for post # 6, disregard ;)

Great gun, accurate, powerful, easy to cary all day long. Get a limbsaver and your good to go, I don't find the recoil that bad as the stock fits me just right.
Plastic magazine fits in your pocket easy, gun never jams, awesome trigger great scope mounting system. So what if its a plasticy gun, it just works as a do-all hunting tool from deer to grizzly.
For a deer load try a 200 speer with 57 gr imr 4064, light recoil and kills just fine to 300 yds.

well, the OP can listen to the vast multitudes of those who have had great success with Tikkas, or he could listen to the likes of you, who apparently just cruises tikka threads making assinine comments. Pretty sure the OP didn't ask "Hey, do you think T3's are ugly?"

Either answer the OP's question or keep your comments to yourself, Thanks
