I have been thinking about getting a Tikka T3 lite Stainless Synthetic for the last while in 7mm-08 but I have just come upon a used TIKKA 595, BOLT-ACTION STAINLESS/SYN.

What are the pros and cons of these two models?

Thanks

The 595 is a short action. The T3's are all long action which is fine but feels kind of odd with 308 or 223 type cartridges. I prefer the feel of the 595 stock.

I'd be all over the 595...it's a true short action...ALL T3's are long action whether they are 222 or 300 Mag....better quality and probably less money..not to mention that a 595 SS in 7-08 would be pretty hard to find......

Tikka 595

I have a blued/synthetic 595 in .308 Win. To me it feels better than any of the T3's I've handled.

NAA.

I guess there was someone else out there that thought the same as you guys. Just called the shop back and it is already sold. I knew I should have just bought it!

The owner said he just got another 595 in today on a trade. It is a 308 win Master deluxe with oil finished stock. I really don't need another wood stocked 308 win though. He said it was in very good + condition for $650.00 + tax don't know if that is a good price or not?

Thanks for the replies.

I'd take the T3 -- debate action length all you want, it's a lot lighter than the specs I've read on the 595's, and having owned 3 of them now, they shoot very nice and straight.

If this is a Master Sporter, jump on it. You will never get a deal like that again and no matter what weight it is, if you don't like you could sell it here for the same price in seconds. I would be first in line.

Sorry,,,, the Master Deluxe and the Master Sporter are completely two different models

What the Tikka 595 Master Sporter looks like

and you can see the Deluxe model on the internet by doing a Google search for "Tikka 595 Master Deluxe)

Pretty sure it was a Master deluxe as he said it had the rosewood forend tip and pistol grip cap.

I will have to check as maybe he meant the whitetail hunter deluxe as it also has the rosewood forend tip and pistol grip cap.

How hard is it to get replacement magazines?

Things to look for are the roll over cheek piece, palm swell, rosewood pistol cap and forend tip.
