What is a decent price for the Tikka Model 685 338 Win Mag with sights. This is the older model when Tika went head to head with the Sako rifles.
I guess it depends on if you are buying it or selling it. I also guess you mean a Tikka 658; but for the record and in the interest of an unbiased perspective ... Tikka never went head to head with Sako any more than Oldsmobile went head to head with Lincoln. Sako's from the same period were ALL steel; Tikka's used plastic bits: bolt shroud and magazine. Sako had a recoil lug that was an integral machined component of the action - Tikka used two piece recoil assemblies. The Sako bolt body and handle were a single forged component - while the Tikka employed a separate bolt handle; the Sako bolt handle was strong enough to serve as a backup locking lug - the Tikka bolt handle was employed simply to open and close the bolt; the Sako employed tapered dovetailed mounts while the Tikka employed parallel dovetailed mounts; the Sako dovetails were harder to machine and allowed the rings to snug up under recoil - not so with the Tikka. What is a decent price for the Tikka Model 685 338 Win Mag with sights.
