Anyone have any experience with this rifle? Or seen one in person?

Rob

I actually got to sight one in in .308... it was a shooter... light and easy to point... if you want a carbine it is as accurate as they get. Even with the 19 1/2 inch barrel it was a sub MOA rifle.

since when does barrel length have anything to do with accuracy

in theory a shorter barrel should outshoot a longer barrel all things being equal because it is stiffer.

and if its heavier it cools fathdur, and steel is teh ulimate bullet test to prove all of this

I am impervious to your sarcasm... have another beer.

I should have said with the fiber optic sights on the much shorter sighting radius it points and shoots easily and accurately. Is that better

As far as the heavy barrel argument goes T/B I am sure you must realize that I am just pulling chain.... you obviously were not sure or you would have posted a sarcastic rejoinder on that thread by now.;)

And I have never said that steel is the best medium for testing bullets but it does point out some characteristics of many bullets under extreme circumstances... besides being reactive and a lot of fun to shoot.

Toomer is coming down with the first truck-load of guns to sight in and test fire for the fall this morning.... Does your work pay you to shoot all the customers guns T/B or are you just a clerk!:(
See now that is real sarcasm.:D

Everything I have ever been tought about accuracy and barell length is contrary to your statements. Longer barell is more accurate.
I'll put $50 bucks on a longer barell shooting better than a carbine at longer ranges any day.
A free floated, longer barell with a higher rate of twist by rights, should out perform a carbine.

I have one in .308, I picked it up last year at Quinte Outdoor Sports in Belleville.

I used it last fall for deer and it did the job just fine.

Mine likes 165 Hornandy interbonds with 52.4 gr of RL 15, not the fastest load but I got one ragged hole a few times last summer when I was working up loads (Always MOA off the bench). I tried it with H-380 and IMR 4064 but it liked RL 15 best.

You have been taught wrong. As Tod already pointed out,a shorter barrel does not whip as much and can therefore be more accurate. However, the quality of the barrel and the bedding is much more important than barrel length, where accuracy is concerned.

Handles well, fast, light and comes to the shoulder easily.

Target acquisition seems very quick for an open-sighted gun.
The ramp and Fibre optic sight set-up gets you to the target very quickly.

Tikkas have a good rep for accuracy ... plain no frills gun
that will "get 'er done" !!!
