Tikka bolt shroud

Can anybody tell me where to find a bolt shroud for a tikka t3. Was at the range
Last night and mine fell off. I would also like to know if it's safe to shoot without it?

I have one, it was replaced by a nice one i got from flick. He was making a replacement, try a pm to him and see if he has any in the works. Much better than the plastic one.

Yes, it is safe to shoot without it.

generally it should be safe but all it takes is one pierced primer and you could get hot gasses in the face

Yup. That's how it happened. Pierced primer on a nosler custom and the bolt shroud hit me in the face

Being that it's plastic, I'm somewhat skeptical of it's gas-stopping abilities.

That plastic shroud adds a certain touch of cheese to a Tikka. I would go aluminum just based on aesthetics alone.

I have an all-steel one on my T3 Hunter.
I got it from a fellow in Norway.
Cost me around $50.00 shipped, and was here in 10 days.
I hated the plastic one.
This replacement matches the rifle finish perfectly.

My Salvage loving buddy calls my 204 a Plastikka. Dumb `ol hillbilly doesn`t know any better.

Anybody ever have trouble taking the bolt out of their tikka? After the pierced primer and the bolt shroud popping off I am having issues getting the bolt out. It always used to just drop or slide right out. Now I have to force it!!

Sounds like something is bent. I don't want to go into catastrophic scenario, but I would suggest you to pay a fast visit to a competent gunsmith who can look at the rifle and declare it safe to shoot again, just in case.
