Tikka CTR 260's

NVM: just notice scammer was asking $950. Def. TGTBT when there is no delivery date for them in Canada.

So any reports from those that imported from the US.

I was in the same boat. Decided to go custom and bought a new Tikka lite stainless, rebarrel in 308 w/ a Broughton barrel and a nice RCSII chassis all found in the EE. I will have a new stainless rifle (action, barrel, chassis) for a little more than a TicTac or Sporter.

Don't know what's going on with Tikka/Sako! their output is very low toward Canada, not so bad in the USA.

I don't have the action yet (in transit) but from what Pete Lincoln @ Rodale Precision said about the RCSII chassis:

"Ref the recoil stop / lug. the raised portion of the area where the action screw goes in to creats a mini recoil lug, this has a 90° angle, this mates to a corresponding area the chassis, also (in the short version) the forward edge of the feed port also mates to the chassis. stocks like this have now been thoroughly tested and have been in circulation a couple of years and we haven't had any issues."

I will think this over but might as well change the recoil lug for a beefier one while at the gunsmith, thanks for the heads up.
 
If you want to be gouged there is a 308 CTR in EE for $1450 + shipping. Yes it looks like the same ones stores were selling recently for $1030.

Won't pollute this thread by posting a link.


PS. Looks like the CTR 260 is still avail for $1200+shipping
