tikka ctr magazine options?

i played with the idea of a ctr bottom and online some test done and i tried it myself.

the mdt polymer magazine made for 308 fit in. there is no extra room and you need to play and wiggle at first to remove them but it is a living option and they stay tight inside.

who tried something else like any aics mag?

Yes the MDT plastic mags fit into the CTR mag system at a push. For AICS mags in a CTR I used the Atlasworx floor plate that has the same external dimensions as the CTR and can just be swopped out without any stock work.

The good thing about that Atlasworx is that one can drop in a 223 into the stock and use 223 aics type mags.

EJG, do you know if that Atlasworx bottom metal works with AW mags?? I have a bunch of those already, would be nice if they could be used in the CTR.

J996, I never had an AW mag, looking at pictures the width is not far off but I don't know if it fits. Does the AW feed in a T3 action? The action is quite narrow that even some central feed plastic mags need to be filed off on the sides to get into the action high enough.

I tried some 6.5CM 143ELDX in the MDT plastic mag. They are borderline in COL but worked. Anything longer might struggle. The CTR mag has much more room in length.

I like my CTR magazine, the longer length helps a lot with the 147 ELD. Pricey, but good magazine

I prefer the CTR mag because it allows a longer OAL for your loaded cartridge and it is the shortest ten round mag available. Yes they are pricey, but what isn't in this game?
