Hey so I bought a Tikka Ctr in 6.5 Creed. Was wanting to shoot off bench at range. I have about 2000 to spend on scope and possible chassis. Questions is do I forgot the chassis and spend all 2000 on scope or should I do 1200 ish on scope and add a Cadex Strike nuke?

I use a krg x Rey on my ctr and am happy with it. Have a 3d printed bag rider on the rear helps a lot on the bench. Topped with a sightron s3 8-32x56, pleased with the scope but think the Arken’s are right there with the s3’s from what I understand.

For your budget I recommend the KRG Bravo Adjustable Stock system which retails new for the Tikka CTR for $580 from Go Big Tactical:

I second the recommendation for the Arken EP5 Gen2 7-35x 56 Long Range Precision Rifle Scope (34mm Tube). You honestly cannot beat what you get for your $680 at Shooting Warehouse. I recommend going with the Mil Reticle, which will simplify any long-range math while providing for accurate Hold-Overs/Unders and Corrections. Note that it is worth buying the Arken Rings or 1-Piece Mount (your preference) as like the scope, they are very good value at $120 for Rings or $110 for the 34mm 20-degree Mount. So long as you have already have a Picatinny Rail on your Rifle, you would have everything you need scope-wise for $800. That said, the Arken Flip-Caps are also excellent value and work superbly:

You will need to invest in an appropriate Shooting Bag unless you plan to shoot off of a 3/4-full 3-day Pack/Small-Pack as your "bag". Good-quality cordura nylon Range Bags are easily in the $75-$100 range.

You will also need to invest in several AICS Magazines in order to be compatible with your AICS Stock/Chassis. MDT makes good Mags at reasonable prices, with their economically-priced Polymer 10-round AICS Magazines selling for just $55:

MDT is also worth checking out as one of Canada's premiere manufacturers of Adjustable Stocks and Chassis. They have several choices in the sub-$1K range.

You will want to shoot a variety of different brands of Match 6.5 CM ammo to see which your rifle likes the best. I recommend sticking with the 140gr Bullet Weight in order to eliminate that variable from your accuracy testing (after first zeroing at 100m with the cheapest 140gr 6.5a CM you can find).

I reckon the Scope, Rings and Adjustable Stock will set you back approx $1400. Add 2 mags ($110) and a Shooting Bag ($100) and you are up to $1600. I recommend using the balance of $400 to purchase ammo. A mix of the most inexpensive "plinking/practice" ammo you can find, and the expensive Match fodder. You can save quite a bit on the Match ammo if you handload, of course. Then you need only purchase components and commit the time. Anyhow, $400 won't get you THAT far buying 6.5 CM, so think about your ammo budget as well. No point being "Rifle Rich, but Ammo Poor". Tough to have fun with your new rifle build if you don't lay in a supply of ammo at the same time.....
