Thinking about picking up one of these for my GF. She really enjoys the look of the gun and she enjoys shooting the 270 Caliber. Just curious if anyone out there has one and can give me some info on it. Even if it is not the 270. Im just curious if the trigger guard is plastic or not, like the T3 Lites. And any other tidbits of information would help. thanks!

Matt

I have the .270 T3 in the camo stainless. Accuracy doesnt seem to be an issue with it....shoots very, very well with factory super x ammo.

Tikka T3

Hi there, I've owned 2 Tikka T3 in the past. Mine were not the laminated version but the Stainless Synthetic offering. I personally can't say enough positive things about these rifles. Action is slick as butter, free floated barrel, easily adjustable trigger, nice feel and they are accurate. When I bought mine, the plastic (or polymer) trigger guard and magazine felt a bit cheap but I quickly learned to live with it. Now mind you when I bought mine in 270 and 30-06 a few years ago, the prices were more attractive. Prices on everything has gone up substantially in the last couple years and the laminated Tikka will probably cost you around $1000. As much as I like the Tikkas, that is starting to get a little pricey in my opinion. But I really believe if you can find a minty used one for a decent price, you will like it. Good luck.

i have a 270/lam/stainless. as said above the bolt is slick as butter. and in my opinion the laminate stock feels better, not to mention more rigid, then the synthetic stocks. in fact i liked it so much, a few weeks after purchasing the 270, i bought the exact same rifle in 300wm. can't say enough good things about these rifles. get one. you'l love it.

thanks a lot for your input. i know they are getting a little pricey, but she was originally looking at a Sako. Then i told her the price so i guess you could say that she downgraded to the Tikka. haha. not that its a downgrade.
