tikka LSA55 barrel thread pitch ??

I'm not sure but I doubt they are the same...Sakos have English size threads, the L579 is 1" x 16 tpi...most Tikkas are metric threads.

The Tikka M55/Ithaca LSA-55 was built long before Sako and Tikka were co-owned.

Someone must a have an old Tikka barrel in the corner that will tell us.....

According to de Haas the Ithica LSA 55 has a 1.020 - 16 t p i thread. He does not give the length. Thid does not match any Sako thread-I wish it did as my LSA 65 barrel is hooped!-by the way he calls the Sako 579 at 1.000 16 tpi and shank length of 0.870

I posted this question on another gun forum and got this reply:
A book reference that I have shows the Ithaca LSA-55 to have 16V TPI with a 1.020" thread major. I have never taken one apart myself, only have this book reference FWIW. The book speaks of a reversed cone on the barrel breech as well.

It is very close to the L579 thread... shank length unknown...

I'll bet it's 26mm (1.02362) x 1.5 (.059) pitch.......DeHaas had a habit of converting metric threads to Imperial without noting it...maybe he didn't have a calculator or a decent vernier...:D

incidentally,...I believe the Howa thread is listed as 26mm x 1.5...
