So what is it worth in today's market? Tikka Whitetail Hunter M595 short action, blued, walnut stock, .243 Win. Rifle in excellent condition.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the responses so far. The walnut stock versions of the M595's were somewhat more expensive than synthetic. Same as the difference between today's T3's.

I have a very similar gun- a Tikka Model 595 Master Continental also chambered in .243 .It has an oiled walnut stock and a blued barrel.I bought it used and would not consider selling it for less than $650.00. Mine came with Tikka rings which I understand are quite expensive. I agree with the earlier poster, in my opinon the older versions are better finished than the newer ones.

Plastic or metal triggerguard/magazine? There were some of each. I picked up a 595 SS in the spring and it is far more appealing to me than the T3's were. Will be even better when my new stock gets here in a week or two...:D

Synthetic.
I agree the M595/M695 are nicer than later T3's.
What stock did you get and where?

Checked a couple of Canadian dealers. Price on walnut stocked T3's run between $870 to about $950 ++ of course. $650 for a used M595 in excellent condition looks about right but not any less, IMHO.
