I am considering buying a used Tikka M695 .338 WM with recoil arrestor stock and Leupold VX iii 2.5 X 8 $1340.vs a Sako AV Hunter .338wm bare for $1100. What do you think. Both apparently mint

Id lean towards the Sako AV, I guess Im partial because I have one. Very nice wood but the recoil pad had to be replaced as it was stone hard and that's not a good thing when shooting a .338 WM.

Bought mine use on the EE for 850$ and it was near Mint.

just a picture .It is an extended tube leading from the stock to the butt. It appears to be about a 2-3inch space between the stock and the butt with this single tube acting as a shock absorber

That would substantially reduce the value of that firearm to me. A stainless M695 is worth like $600-650 including rings. A used scope is worth about 60-75% of the new price and the messed up stock reduces that value by at least $100, so to me that Tikka with worth about $1,000 in otherwise mint condition.

The Sako AV is worth about $1,000 inlcuding rings.
