Hey looking for some help with mounting a scope to a tikka t3x. The scope is a leupold vx2, 2-7x33. I looked at the rings which use the tikka dovetail but I don’t think it will work because of the placement of the front ring with the recoil stud. The tube on the scope is somewhat short And won’t be able to move forward and back to get proper placement.

I was thinking the Burris two piece weaver style bases but not sure. Does anyone know if those bases have multiple slots for ring placement or just one? As an alternative the pic rail would also work, any suggestions for those?

DNZ low 1pc mount is what I'd use. Finding one may be a challenge though. Talley 2pc is another that will work fine as you can reverse the front ring if the scope tube isn't long enough.

Talley lightweights will work nicely. You can rotate the whole assembly around to mount the scope where needed. I have also used a picatinny rail and low rings with success on Tikkas.

I have Warne Maxima 2 pieces (weaver/picatinny style) on a Tikka T3 with Warne Quick Detach rings and it is rock solid (it's on steel, not aluminum). The one piece base in steel will give you more room to play with your scope.

Are you using Sako rings or the Warne split rings? Have you tried turning the front ring to get the pin forward? A full length pic rail will allow you to move rings to the position needed but the lowest mount height it still well higher than what these provide. Burris also offers tikka rings and I'm not sure they have the recoil pin. It is removable from the Warne rings but I'd advise against that unless in a pinch.

I haven’t tried anything yet as I’m looking for suggestions. So can you turn the warne rings around (front ring) to move it closer to the action opening and accommodate shorter length scopes? I didn’t realize that.

T3 and T3X rifles have the same bolt pattern, but the recoil lug they put on the MDT T3 rail is longer (and a different shape) than the lug hole on the top of a T3X. If you're using a T3 rail on a T3x, and it has a lug, the lug likely needs to be pulled before the rail can be torqued down.
Not a big deal at all, but the lug on mine was in there tight. Needed to put it in a vise to remove it.

The Deadnutz mount allows only one location for the rings, which may or may not work for you depending upon your scope choice and your own preferences for eye relief. A decent pic rail allows putting the rings just about anywhere you need them for perfect eye relief. It also lets you use QD rings in case you are anal about having a couple scopes ready to go on a hunting rifle...like I am. :) I unfortunately find pic rails to be as ugly as sin...

The all-time best scope mount I have found for Tikkas is the MASI one-piece QD mount. It has two possible mounting for each ring, giving you a total of four possible ring configurations which should be enough for just about scope. It has outstanding return-to-zero capabilities, it's lightweight and its cosmetics don't offend me too much. I think its biggest problem is the difficulty in locating them here in Canada.

That ^ is a link to a MASI mount that I just sold; the ad will stay up until the buyer receives his mount; it has pics and a link for more info.

Have a look at the Mountain Tactical picatinny rail from tikkaperformance, the recoil lug is machined into the rail so it’s one piece and will never move. I currently have 2 T3x’s and both have the MT rail, the Battue has Leupold QRW2 Medium rings, fast and easy to take off if I want to use the iron sights and my Lite has the Leupold PRW2 low rings.

Bump .. having similar issues. Where can I find rings that fit the Tikka dovetail cut into the receiver? Don't see adding height by putting mounts or rails on top when this dovetail is there to use..
