i had ,then sold a tikka .222 varmint. i have almost 700 dollars in store credit from a firearm i returned. i would like another tikka, but a sporter in maybe 223 or 222. what other brand of rifle would be as accurate as a tikka, for about the same price? how about savage? would a sporter be as accurate as a varmint? i might want to take it out for some hunting or plinking and these varmint rifles are a tad too heavy. thanks

700$ is quite a bit of credit, it can get you started on quite a nice varminter, i like my cz527, but i would also look at something from browning, if the bankroll allows a sako 85 hunter comes in all of the super short varmint calibers and have a detatch mag. I found that the sako have amazing balance and feel light as a feather. Personally i like to stay away from the run of the mill rifles like the remington, savage, t/c, not that there is anything wrong with them, just not something i want to dump a bunch of money into
