I am wondering about Weaver scope mounts for a Tikka T3.
I know, you'll say don't even say Tikka T3 and Weaver in the same sentence, but hey, I like Weaver bases. I like the variety of Weaver rings that go on the bases.
So, does anyone know the number of the Weaver two piece bases that would fit a T3?
Thanks for any help.
Bruce

There is nothing wrong with Weaver bases and rings in spite of what some people have to say about them.
I have had T3s with Optilock bases/rings, Talley rings and Weaver bases/rings and the Weaver work just as good as the high priced stuff.

61 front and rear.

Thank you very much for the number.
And thank you other guys for seeing it my way about Weaver. I've used a lot of many various versions of them since the 1950s and never really had any problems. I am even good at estimating how much the scope will turn while tightening the type with screws on just one side!

;)Like those on the old Weaver Pivot mounts that I seem to go for:).

Yes it is an art to estimate how much you have to compensate for the rings moving the cross hairs on those old style Weaver rings!

I like the weaver system as well. It's lightweight, versatile, QD, and dependable w/o costing 1/2 a weeks pay.

Weaver is offering another type ring with screws on both sides. I bought six sets a while back. I like them better than the older style with the hook on one side and the screws on the other.

Yes..... not fancy but do exactly what they are supposed to... definitely a go to for me..... nice to see the new design.... neat

An alternative that worked out pretty good. Single dovetail Leupold bases #54447 and Burris Signature medium rings. What I liked about these bases is that they're shaped to the Tikka rail, bit of overlap down the sides. Been on the rifle about 5 years now, very solid.

For Weaver style bases, I like Leupold's steel version, very clean and good looking, no hollows to collect dirt. End of the day, system that's still hard to beat. (Just checked, Leupold doesn't make these for the Tikka.)

Tip: For looking up rings and bases, SWFA Outdoors's website is the best! Includes matching pics for every part number, has just about everything under the sun covered...

Yes, I have those also. The latest ones I got have screws with the virtually non slip torque heads.
One big advantage of Weaver for me is I change scopes around a fair bit and I always like the scope as low as it will go. So with at least three different heights of rings I can always find a set of rings to get a scope where I want it.
