Tikka receiver

Thanks Jerry,

Another question…
I have a 243 t3 varmint and a 300 WSM t3 varmint as well

Can I re-barrel both to shoot let’s say 6cm or 6BR, and only use one bolt? Obviously the 243 bolt.

I guess when adjusting my headspace one may end up a little different than the other, but as long as I’m doing it with the bolt used to shoot I should be good?

I was looking to buy a t3x and scrap the barrel, but I already have one rifle on the shelf…

Thanks

Unless you can confirm the dimensions of the bolt swap into another action, do not assume it will fit.

Also, actions might be well machined but rarely identical in alignment. So even if one bolt fits into another action, the wear on the back of the bolt from 1 receiver may not be identical to the wear imposed by another.

The only time this can work is with well machined floating bolt head actions.... and even then, not all actions of a type may remain identical through time/different production runs. do not assume anything fits, ALWAYS confirm fitment.

another question...

if i stay with my 243 caliber but swap the barrel...

according to berger calculator, using 105 or 108 target bullets, I would be stable using 1:8 twist. Any reason I would go faster?? (1:7 being available for 243 win...)

thanks.
