Tikka reviews

OP. It is a Creedmoor. Not a Creedmore.

If it was me I would get the 260 Rem version (same bullet- bigger case) and then give it an Ackley. That gives it 6.5x55 capacity. Then you can drive the 140 gr long range bullets at a decent velocity.

Depending on what you want to do. This firearm can shoot 1000 Meters + easy hitting target. If you don't have a range that will make you shoot that far, then don't buy it.

I have a friend who has the exact same firearm TAC A1 6.5, his range is 300 meters, he is always SUB MOA, he is bored to death and now wants to sell it.

It is an OUTSTANDING firearm with great ability, worth the money, but again, what is the point getting it if you won't shoot long range

Since I do not have the range to stretch the legs on a firearm am capped at 200 yards I shoot 223. If you like Tikka then pick up the T3X in 223 - you will not regret it. I had a HOWA HLR in 6.5 Creedmoor sub-moa at 200 yards became boring - I sold it to someone who will be able to get the full benefit out of the caliber.

I have the T3X TAC A1 in .308 and it's a great shooter . Yodave trigger spring and a Heathen brake . Nightforce 20 moa unimount with a level . Sightron S3 6 X 24 upgraded with tactical turrets and a zero stop . Atlas PRS bipod . Half minute on paper at 300 and little problem hitting the 12 x 12 plate at 900 which is the farthest i've shot it so far . I also have the TicTac in .223 and what a great rifle . I have the same scope on it , another Sightron . The only downside with the T3X TAC A1 is the price of the mags . I have pillar bedding kits and recoil lugs that i've never installed . Zero problem hitting coyotes at 600 yards with the .223 TicTac . The reason i chose .308 over 6.5 is because in the past i hoarded .308 match ammo at a ridiculous price and i have so much loading gear and components for .308 .

I’ve got a Tikka T3X in 270 WIN. I quite like it but it’s the only rifle I’ve ever owned, so what do I know. The reviews were all great.

WHY Not ? just BUY one in 6.5 x 55 I have one and it shoots Excellent - RJ

Great info, I've been looking at the CTR which is a stunning rifle but $180 for a spare mag!
I also agree if youre not intending to fire long distance what's the point in the expense?
I'm thinking of getting a shotgun and a cheaper bolt action for the same cost as the Tikka

Hey...thanks a bunch for all the feedback. I have and enjoy a Remington model 700 sps tactical chambered in .223. Love the rifle but have always wondered about the 6.5. And all I read about is the new tikka... so just wanted to feel everybody out on their opinions.

The Tikka T3X CTR in 6.5 Creedmoor is my first center fire bolt action rifle. Using Federal Premium Gold Medal Berger at 100 metres, it was hitting the centre of the 1 inch round stickers. Switched to Remington Core-Lokt 140gr and was still within the sticker. I am very happy.

I can't speak for the Tactical, but my T3 Hunter in 300 wussy mag shoots sub moa with Federal "cheap" 180gr and Winchester XP 150gr. Just using the Burris 3-9 that came with it. I get the feeling that if I used a machine rest it would put the bullets through the same hole. When I tried using the Hornady Precision 200gr stuff though, it made a 4" group. Go figure. I was very impressed with the quality and results from this thing for the price I paid for it.

They're accurate guns, no doubt, and the triggers are quite splendid, and easy to adjust. I've owned a few. However, I do find the price of them to be a little over the top. When the T3 came out, they could be had for 499-599$. Now the same gun is running 799-899. For what they are, I think it's too much. They're quite plastic. And the mags are expensive. And the mag release is quite easy to accidentally press while shouldering the gun, or when carrying it, from personal experience. But man, they sure shoot!

Grass is not greener, buy another Remington.

They could change the name to 6.5 Needmore, because it doesn't hold enough powder.

I have a pair of T3 lite, a 204 and 6.5x55 both are my go to rifles when I go hunting. The only issue I have with the 204 is it won't shoot the heavier bullets, so I stick with the 32 gr Sierra which do an excellent job on varmints. The 6.5x55 has taken several deer and a moose since I got it, tis a keeper.
