Hi, just a question, l have a Tikka T3, what are my options for mounting a scope. l know about the opti-locks, a little expensive.
What others are out there that slide on the rails, ie friction.
Are there any one piece mounts, that the ring, and bases are one unit.

Sorry, it's for a 270 Hunting Rifle

Millets Angle-Loks will work on the side grooves but anything over a varmint caliber might be a bit too much recoil for them. Your best bet would be a set of Talley Lightweight one piece rings and base - a solid setup that will serve you well.

Hi

The tikka optilok rings are good. They work well, You don't need the one pc base to get a 20 moa with them. The rear ring base can be shimmed in between the ring and the rings base. The moving ring (plastic) inside the rings will prevent the scope from being bound and give you the same elevation as a 20MOA base or a shimmed one pc mount. The amt of MOA will depend on the thickness of the shim.

I used a .020" shim on my tikka and it gave me 25" extra elevation @ 100 yards.

?

If it's just for a hunting rifle you can use Millet angle-loc rings as your cheapest solution. Next up would probably be Burris bases and rings which are very solid and windage adjustable. They would cost a little more but not nearly as much Optiloc bases and rings.

If your interested in a set of Millets for your Tikka PM me as I have a set I no longer need.

I know you didn't ask about other options, but the two piece Leupold bases work well and are very economical compared to the Tikka stuff.

Grizzlypeg is right. The Leupold bases and rings work extremely well on the T-3 even in larger calibers (.300 Win and .338).
