Tikka / Sako Integral Scope Rail Size

If you are looking for an excellent mount for Tikka/Sako, I would strongly suggest you look at the Warne mounts. For my money they are stronger built than the optilok. They do not have the polymer insert but I sold off my optilok in favor of the warne product. Available in quick release or permanent mount style. I purchased mine from Western Gun Parts in Edmonton.

For what its worth.

It's more that I have a Brno with a 15mm integral scope mount... and want to know if I can use any of the mounts made for a Tikka/Sako...

Sako will not fit ... the dovetails are tapered ..... pretty sure Tikka won't either although their dovetails are parallel ... Best to get rings designed for BRNO like Lynx particularly as they manufacture rings that engage the recoil cut-out on the BRNO bridge

the Optilok system is one of the best, if not the best, way of mounting scopes. Chances of scope pinch are almost non existent, as is bending the tube due to misaligned rings. why more people don't use them is beyond me. I've seen them on everything from .22's to .50's with zero problem holding the scope.

The european dovetail system rivals the screw in American system for strength.

They do have their limitations.

Burris offers a similar spherical bushing system which some accuracy purists feel still have some minute movement under recoil etc....

The Tikka - Sako TRG rails are the same size. The Sako 75 and TRG-S (M995) utilize a tapered dovetail as opposed to a parallel dovetail.
