Tikka Scope Mount Questions?

I think you mean Signature Rings - Zee ones mount on a weaver base. And Zee rings don't have inserts. I think....

I have the Leupold 2 piece bases and Burris Signature rings (w/ inserts ) on my Tikka T3 Varmint. Very solid setup indeed.

Alternatively, you could get a rail and TPS rings - now THAT'S a nice setup.

well, you can get Signature Zee Rings too, but he doesn't need the Zee.

the french canadian... yes, I have used them. They are great! one piece ring/mount set-up, once sighted in, your POI will not move.

I ended up buying the Burris Trumount Universal 2 piece bases and the Low Burris Standard Rings. It was hard to find a base for my new Savage Model 14 American Classic.....yes I went with the Savage over the Tikka. Not as easy as I had thought to get the proper base and rings, LeBaron's has limited selection for this rifle had to get on the Burris website and research, then had to call LeBaron's and cancel one order and make changes to the proper base....not exactly rocket science but it had me spinning...
Check out the Savage Model 14, it had everything that I was looking for at a reasonable price.

Appreciate insight on how practical it may (or not) be to install see-thru scope mounts on a T3 with iron sights. As I visualize that, the scope, obviously will be sitting quite high although I imagine the front sight hood will likely be visible in the glass to a great extent.

If that's do-able without greatly compromising the height/position of the optics installed - in such case, what make of see-thru mount may be the best?

You would definitely be compromising your ability to achieve a proper cheek weld on the stock while using the scope.You would be sacrificing your potential accuracy with the scope,and see thru mounts are generally very weak compared to a set of low mounts.Forget the iron sights,and get a proper set of low mounts,or even a set of quick detatchable mounts.

I've had the Opti-Lok set,were nice. But they went on a gun I sold. I now have a Burris set up from Mysticplayer,and I'm well pleased with them at the price

Not a T3 but I have a Tikka 695 stainless synthetic 6.5x55mm with Weaver bases and Burris "Z" rings setup holding a B&L Elite 3000 3-9x40mm [forrunner of the Bushnell 3200 series]

And I have a Tikka 595 blued synthetic .308 Win with Millet rings. Bushnell 3200 3-9x40mm Seems to be a good set-up, too.

I like the leopolds. I just put them on a t3 lite and put a 3200 elite 3-9 on it. I used medium rings, but I think I could have got away with low.
