Barrel is 22 7/16 I think (factory length). The scope is 19oz, I could easily save another 1/2lb there. Even the vx-r 4-12x40 is under 15oz and still keeps the firedot

So how much weight did the new stock and bolt shave off? This is the model with the fluted barrel already, right?

Edit: sorry, I missed it in the first post. 5oz less for the stock. Not bad and looks better too.

I made my own superlite. They don't make a 270 wsm so I got a hunter stainless fluted and put a McMillan edge on it and it weighs 7.0 lbs with a zeiss 4.5-14x44. Shoots 129 lrx really nice. Took it out today and it shot a 1" group at 200m at 3415fps.

I had no idea the superlite was a out of the box option.......damn you google

I tend not to look at things I really don't need..........and now I want........

The superlites in a larger bore are 5.9lbs stock. 6.25 in the smaller calibers I think. Bolt fluting might save 1-2ozs, but I have a stainless bolt shroud to add that weighs 1.5 oz

Me likes :)

I don't find the factory trigger as is, all that terrible but for $10, I'd consider trying this yodave spring you speak of.

EDIT: Ooohh, google tells me it brings it down to 12oz range, yikes ... little light for me but to each there own.

Thanks, if it didn't cost more than a custom, I'd like to find and part out a fast twist 223, rechamber to 22-250 and shoot heavier bullets, starting with the 52gr vmax

A 14 twist 22-250 will shoot 52 gr-ers FINE - you only need a faster twist for those 60-80 gr bullets - Also Remember you will need a NEW BOLT too because of the head diameter ! ;) RJ

Sorry. I fat fingered the 52, I meant 53gr vmax, with the better ballistic coefficient, they don't stabile very well in these guns.
