Tikka SuperVarmint. To sell or not to sell??

Well I just bought myself an SL8. One of my buddies is now telling me that I should sell my Tikka T3 SuperVarmint 308 because the SL8 will take over. So what do you guys think? The SL8 is a semi-auto 223 while the Tikka is a bolt action 308. SL8 has a regular bbl, Tikka has a heavy SS bbl. I need opinions here before the Tikka gets put up in the ee. Thanks!
 
Keep the Tikka...first of all its a tikka;) and its a .308 which is a lot more versatile then the .223 and you can hunt bigger animals etc. with it and if you ever want to get into target shooting, the .308 will go farther
 
I've already used it for some harmless long range plinking out to about 800 yrds with good results. I also have a Tikka T3 270 as well though.
 
Also I'm not letting my friend tell me what I want or don't want. It's just that he said that the SL8 will probably turn into my go to gun for hunting around here and he is probably right. As he put it, if the SL8 does turn into this new go to gun, then the Tikka will just end up being surplus.
 
Well my only real beef with the Tikkas in general (I own 3 so far) is their lack of customization. A Remington can be completely changed where as a Tikka can have a different scope attached :rolleyes:
 
Are there any aftermarket mods available for the Tikkas? I remember reading on here about guys trying to find stuff but no luck.
