Ok guys give me your opinions, I will be purchasing a synthetic stock short action 243win that will be used purely for hunting and would like some opinions as I am considering either a Tikka T-3lite or an Accustock Savage.

Buy the Tikka I have a T3 lite and my buddy has an older Tikka both are stupid accurate.Resale much better than a Savage, but I wont disparage Savage they make great guns for the price.

Tikka. For the price its not hard to love the smooth bolt, good trigger, and accuracy. At the end of the day it's still a long action, but it'll kill what you shoot with it. Regardless, some people feel its the end of the world shooting a short action round out of a long action rifle, but I've shot several Tikkas, from 22-250 to 30-06 and they've all shot well, and the action length never crossed my mind when hunting or shooting.

Savage if you are on a budget. Tikka if you can afford it.

Either way you get a good usable rifle.

Maybe you should consider including that goll dang Marlin X7 .......... sumting or other.
Few on here have them and for the price point, toss the savings into a bigg'un
fangdangled scope.

I do like them.

My first was a 338 Federal, but sold it due to the fact I didn't get into reloading.
At the same time I also had a Varmint in 243. But found too heavy for carrying around all day.

So after selling those ones I bought 2 lite stainless models. One in 243 and the other in 300wsm.
A limbsaver is a must.

After I purchases the first one I was hooked, you could say I drank the cool aid. It was then a matter of finding the best calibers to suit my needs.

I love the smoothness of the bolt and the fantastic trigger.

The savage isn't bad and accurate, but so is the tikka, and the bolt on the tikka is a bit smoother, i have a model 16 and the neighbor has a tikka in 25-06, it is much smoother to cycle I have to admit, and more then a few ounces lighter.

I have a 243 in a Sako m75ss - LOVE IT. As for the Tikka rifles, I have/had two-both in 270WSM. I just picked up a 270WSM for my nephew in Edmonton on the weekend in a Sako A7 SS.......impressive and a great price in the package deal. Seen a A7 ss in 243 at P & D Enterprises.

As for the Savage, my 2 nephews have one each in the youth models...great shooters just a sloppy action.:runaway:

So if you like tight/silky smooth actions-go Tikka or Sako !!:dancingbanana:

of the two, Tikka. I just dislike the savages bolt shroud region although would own one if I could look past that, if I had too.

savage with a few more metal parts would be more up my alley though.
