the wind finally died down to the point where I could get some load developement carried out for the 222 rem. Best target of the day was shot with winchester brass, cci primer, 22 grains of Benchmark powder all topped off with a 52 grain Hornady BTHP match bullet. I don't care about the velocity just the group size. Target was shot at 100 yards using a t3 lite, optilocks and a tasco 6-24x42 mildot. Still looking for a weaver for this rifle but in the mean time I am just using what was on hand.

:D I was happy to see this when I changed targets
5 shot group measured with my new digital caliper from craptire(measured the extreme outside to outside and subtracted .224)

Nice group!! I shoot those 52 grain Hornady BTHP match bullets in my A-Bolt Hunter 22/250 with very similar results.

.

yodave I have the same rig in stainless, great little shooters, I had luck with 19.0 gr of 4189 and a 53g SMK never tries BM powder?? i should i guess but the load works good too!
About the same as yours
Gotta love them!

I also have good luck with 18.0 grains of imr 4198 and a 50 grain speer tnt, it is now my back-up load. I shot 5 rounds inside a one inch bullseye today at two hundred yards with the benchmark/52 bthp load today but didn't take any pics of the target.:shotgun: :dancingbanana:
