Tikka T3 223 question. Anybody out there own one or know about them?

Hi, I'm looking at getting a T3 in 223 1:8 twist for practicing my marksmanship. (I own a t3 lite in 30-06 and love it, but can only shoot so many rounds through it.)
I'm looking at a rifle for sale, but it seems to have some holes in the barrel that maybe someone tapped for iron sights, can't be sure. I'm wondering if this is the case or some of them came with these threaded holes? My stainless T3 has none of these.

Far from a tikka expert but those look like they're from having iron sights at one point. I'm sure someone else will be along with more info.

Perhaps that's from a T3 Hunter or Forest? What is the length of the barrel? Over 20"?

I,ve seen some Tikka T3 come in with open sights. Special order shortly after the T3 was introduced. I never saw a 223 but it could be one of them.

Maybe it is for attaching a Mirage band which I believe is sometimes done with Tikka's. The Tikka CTR has a small stud at the front of the Picatinny rail which is used for the same purpose

Not sure, I'll have to ask the seller. Looked like a regular t3 blued.

There was something there the bluing is preserved. Just deciding if I'm ok with a rifle I'm somewhat unfamiliar with or has been altered.

I ve never seen a 223 with iron sight special order or not. that is not for a battue sight/
best to ask the seller. interesting.
