I see so many people complaining about not being able to single feed their Tikka T3's in .223 due to the tip jamming to low from the chamber.
Everyone seems to be buying bobsleds etc wasting close to $20, when there is a simple solution using the stock magazine that takes all of 5 seconds to do, and is just as easily reversible.
pictures below.

All you need is a pen or small screw driver to go from this:

All that you need to do is lift the front tip of the follower up and above the front magwall ledges
Here is a video that explains it better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wguTqj3XsNA

I shoot my 22-250 one bullet at a time from the bench , just toss the bullet in and close the bolt.

Is this problem caliber specific?

yes it does pick up the base of the cartridge, it works flawlessly. I only knew of guys with .223 having this issue, but if it sorts out .240 and others, even better.

Years ago bought a T3 for the shop for checking inlets. It didn't matter but it was in 222. It would neither feed or eject. I do have a good regard for them anyway however.

They feed great from the mag, but for some reason Tikka sized the .223 mag to limit you to standard AR length rounds - kind of annoying with an 8 twist barrel. Totally unnecessary too, since the mags are the same size externally from the magnum cals down to the .223. But they do shoot brilliantly. Very, very brilliantly for $1k.

It's a major pain in the azz for me as I shoot over-length cartridges, and often in competition where single feeding is required. I have modified one magazine to hold longer cartridges, but I believe there is also somebody out there making a replacement follower that tips the bullet up enough to enter the chamber. Mine is a .223 Tikka Tactical.
