Tikka T3 308 mag length ?

Hi all
I'm new to reloading. I guess the problem I'm facing has already been discussed but trying my luck...

Just realized by measuring coal with a target bullet ( 168 Matchking with 0.020 jump) that rounds will exceed the maximum 2.082 allowed in the factory magazine.
Are there any ways to go around that apart from loading rounds one by one ?
Different magazine ?

Yes, you can switch to the "L" long action magazines.

This will necessitate changing (or modifying) your bolt stop,

...but it is easy to do on a T3!

The factory sa mag is longer than 2.082. I believe its 2.850" or thereabouts

Tikka makes a medium “plus” factory mag. Might just be what you need.

You are right. My mistake.... 2.82

You will probably need a longer bolt stop. It's also very easy to mod the existing on with a file or hack saw.

I run one on a chopped rig. It’s a seriously well thought out piece of kit.

When I spoke to him last fall he did not have any right handed chassis. He is supposed to get in touch when production starts. He told me the 16.5 in barrel would be perfect, and still be legal folded.

Got a long bolt stop from Paul Cook, and a couple of ''Long'' magz.
Mr Cook told me the right handed chassis would be ready around April. Aluminium just got in the shop.

No problem.
I think it came in .308 and .223
It has a 16.5 in mediumish contour fluted barrel, a spiral fluted bolt, and a machined integral picatinny rail. I added a vertical grip and a wide forend, as well as an adjustable cheek riser.
One version is my hunting version, withe Zeiss V4 4x16. The other is the range version with the Riton 5x25 and a SG Pulse. Both can be fitted with a the quick detach Brugger and Thomet ultralight bipod.
I had the metal cerkoted midnight bronze, and added a custom radial muzzle brake. Trigger is 1.25 lb.
