Tikkas are all the same action length, and I've had several in chamberings ranging from .243 to .300WM, but not at the same time. My current .243 is wearing a B&C Medalist sporter stock, which fits and works perfectly. Now, I could have sworn that this is the exact individual stock that I once had mounted on a T3 in .300WM, where it also worked perfectly...but I'm seeing a couple of aftermarket T3 stocks and chassis being labeled as either LA or SA. The latest example of this is the recent email from MDT explaining how the T3 LA version of one of their stocks has just been released, to complement the SA version that's been out for awhile.

What gives? Am I misremembering? There were several years separating those two guns in my collection; maybe I'm wrong about it being the same stock used on both. Hell, it's May...I'm about due for my annual mistake...:)

MDT CRBN stocks for a Tikka do not use the factory magazine, it's an AICS mag which will be short action or long action

What makes a Tikka a LA or SA is the magazine and the bolt stop. As mentioned above, most aftermarket stocks from people like MDT convert the gun to AICS mags rather than re-use the factory magazine, and THOSE Mags come in short and long action varieties.

Would suck to get a short action model for a 30-06 and not realize it until it showed up at your home...
