Tikka T3 barrel tenon thread pitch

Barrel Tenon please. Original post edited.

I had no idea this info would be so hard to attain. An internet search reveals nothing in any forum. I guess it's a secret or no one has pulled off a barrel yet.

I have another consideration and that is all 1 1/16-16 threads apparently aren't the same between companies. I have mandrels for Remington actions that won't fit RPA actions and 1"-16 Tikka mandrels that don't fit Winchesters. So I have another vote for using the action to fit the barrel. Threads are probably close between a companies own actions because they should be using their own set of tolerance gauges but not necessarily the same tolerances between different companies. Clear as mud?

That would save me some money on metric change gears for my old South Bend if that's true.

When I get a metric barreling job I prepare the shank to the length and diameter needed and take the stripped action with the prepared blank to a machine shop and have them thread it to a snug hand fit. Usually costs me $25 cash.
I would never spend the money for metric gears - just not enough metric jobs to justify it...
