Took my new rifle in 7mm rem mag to the range today. Might I say it exceeded my expectations. 1/2" group with 160 barnes TSX handloads at a starting charge of 52 grains imr 4831 seated .050 off the lands. What an amazing rifle for the price. Now to work up the powder charge. Woot!

Aside from more load results, we need one more thing from you..... that is pictures of your hunting success and we can wait till Fall for those... ok ??

My Hunter in 6.5 Swede is just stupid accurate.

The few times I have actually measured the groups, 5 shots inside .75 on almost all of them. Some groups much smaller with a flyer that was my fault, one with 4 shots touching and a pulled fifth to make the group in the one inch range.

Looks like your about 10gr under max for that chambering.

Barnes #4 states 52 gn minimum and 58 gn max. As a new loader I will stick to published loads. I just cant believe the accuracy. She was even printing 3/4" with factory blue box federal 150's I had lying around. I am taking a break from the bench as I type this. I am loading 1/2 grain increments to published max.

It's a good sign that it is shooting well with a soft charge like that, now see if you can find a cheap bullet that it will shoot accurately with a mild charge for your practise shooting, easier on the barrel and your shoulder, try a flat based bullet, sierra is a good place to start. I had a tikka varmint 7 mag that loved imr 4064 and sierra 140 gr pro-hunters, can't remember what the load was but it was at least a couple grains below max.
