Just bought a Tikka T3 in 30-06. Shoots 1/2" groups with 165gr winchester factory ammo. My handloads are down to .800", with Sierra 165 gr game kings and 58gr of IMR4350 powder. Love the new rifle, now just have to see a deer to see how it performs.

I have the same as my go to gun with a
VX3 2.5 x 8 scope.

With 59.2g of IMR4350 powder and nosler AB 165 g bullets.
Last weekend at the range with a 15 K wind I was shooting at 340 yards I got a 5 shot 3.5" group with a 14" bullet drop.:D

Good enough for me.

The other day I put some grip tape on the gun.
3/4 x 4" under the front of the stock.
1/2 x 2" under the grip.

Hunting yesterday, its cold so wearing gloves.
Big improvement.

Tikkas get a bit of a bad rap here latley.
Ford vs chevy, yawn.

Go to 24 hour camp fire, a more mature group.
Read up on the T3.

Talk to Phil from P+D about the Tikka T3.
He has perhaps sold more than any one else in Canada.

Kewl x2

I hope to buy a Tikka some day.:)
I have a Deluxe .223 with 1:8" twist. I like them.

For the average joe that doesn't want to spend alot of time tinkering, you can take these right out of the box and pretty much be assured that it will be a shooter. I wish all rifles shot as well as these do and many that cost more don't.

.

I haven't found a rifle yet that will shoot as good out of the box as Tikka. I have a varmint in .223 and my Dad has a T3 Battue Lite in .308 that he loves.
I can shoot ragged holes with my .223 with factory or handloads at 100 yards. Have shot gophers at 250 yards with it too.
It's not that I don't appreciate other rifles--- I have a Browning X-bolt in 300 wsm that shoots 2" groups at 200 yards with factory ammo that I love--- but the Tikkas give so much for such a decent price.
Sounds like you've got a winner.
