Tikka T3 Lite questions

I emailed Burris the other day inquiring about Burris Signature Zee rings for my T3. they lowest height they offer is 'Medium' , and yet their mounting specs suggest 'Low' for anything up to 40mm objective lense on this rifle.
the regular Zee rings do come in Low.
Talley also recommends 'low' height rings on their website for the Tikka.
so would you use 'Med' height rings instead of 'Low' ? what's the tradeoff?

and what base is a good match for the Talley lightweights? suggestions?
thx

The difference between the signature and non-signature rings is the plastic inserts. These allow you to use offset inserts to correct issues such as a misaligned scope or to set up for long distance shooting without a special 20 moa base.

With most use the main difference you are going to notice is that the inserts prevent your scope from being marked by the rings. Definitely a good thing if you are spending $1K on optics.

I've got the regular zee rings on two different Stevens 200's, one set is medium and one set is low. I don't really notice the difference when I switch rifles.

The standard zee rings are still great, and do mark the scope much less than many brands of rings. I always intend to use the signature version for my "next rifle" but end up with the standard set because they are so much easier to find. They've never let me down, even with the recoil of my 444marlin.

So choose which ever you think you are going to like the best, and they will serve you well.

I put Med Sig Zee rings on 3 of my T3 Lites and found that they all were very comfortable, not to high but it is a personal thing. Nothing beats the plastic inserts especially when you plan on throwing expensive glass and want to keep the finish in mint shape.
