Hey there,

I have a couple of precision rifles and just got my hunting license so looking to get a good cost effective hunting rifle that will be used maybe once or twice a year.

I've kind of narrowed my choice around the t3 lite and the mauser m18, was looking to get feedback from someone who owned both as to what were the pros and cons of each.

Thanks

The Mauser has a fitted barrel. It means you can not re-barrel the rifle like you can with the Tikka. That being said most of the reviews are great on Mauser. I personally just ordered a tikka in 6.5 and I look hard at the Mauser and others that have the same issue.

If only using it a week or 2 a year youll never wear the barrel out. T3 stocks dont fit me at all and im not a fan of all in one action length and using mag blocks so mauser would get my vote

You can change anything you want on the Tikka, lots of aftermarket support and they usually shoot wonderfully. The Mauser is nice, but it’s largely uncustomizable and quite uncommon in the Canadian marketplace. Both are good guns but one is a dead end while the other has endless possibilities.
