I purchased a stainless t3 223 Remington with the 1 in 8 twist a couple of years ago for calling coyotes. Mounted a Burris E1 and went to work with some 53 grain vmax shells left over from a previous 223. Set the rifle in for 200 yards at the local gravel pit shooting off sandbags from the hood of my truck. Love the setup but the coyotes do not.

Decided I should get some heavy bullets since I had the fast twist barrel. Picked up some 75 grain Hornady bthp and put up a max charge of H4895. Went out to the gravel pit set up my target around 100 yards and tried a few. They were dead on at 100 yards. I start to figure this is pretty good - I could use the dots in the scope for 200 and 300 yards without resetting. Had to try that out first before using it on critters.

Slapped on the bipod and sure enough milk jugs exploded if I used the proper dot for the 53 grain or the 75. Went forth and started slaying coyotes. Can not say I am sold on the 75 grain bthp - some kill like the vmax but some give me runners. Will stick with the vmax for hunting.

Long story short I was the guest today of my son who is a member at the Saskatoon Wildlife federation. What a wonderful range that group has built - my hat is off to all the members for putting up such a fine facility. Took the 75 grain loads out.

The group measured 0.4375 - 0.224 = 0.2135

Once again proof that load development with a tikka t3 means "insert magazine":d

Thought I would just share because I doubt I could ever pull that off again!
