Anyone know if there are metal magazines being made for the Tikka T3? I've been looking around, but haven't had any luck.

Also looking for a steel trigger guard to replace the plastic one.

I didn't think that all this plastic would get to me when I bought the rifle, but it's starting to...

I like the polymer mags.

Sorry, no idea if metal mags even exist. I'll happily take your polymer ones if you want to get rid of them!

tikka DOES make 5 round metal mags. there for the old style tikkas m695 ect but will still work just fine in the newer models. price is almost double though.

most dealers wont know that so i suggest you ask them to call there distributor.

as for the trigger guard your out of luck there. they dont make metal ones.

As far as i know Tika never made a metal mag. you light be able t find an after market trigger guard.

I have no idea what people complain about the plastic on there tikas. they are built to be light and plastic is light, metal in not.

Personally, the plastic mag was one of the things I really liked.
The bolt shroud though...
Have you thought about a Sako?
Thats where I'm going (sold my T3) when I can find one.

There is a guy in Germany that is working on it. He is converting AI mags and bottom metal to work. He already has a AI stock setup with AI mags for the T3.

Are you sure they would work? I read an article that said the magazine release on the older Tikka rifles was on the side, while the new T3s have the release on the front.

The real Tikkakoski rifles had metal mags. Since Sako has owned Tikka they have had at least partial polymer if not all polymer construction.

Yeah plastic one works great. Only reason I would be interested in say the AI ones is because they will hold ten rounds.
