The only difference is that the barrel is fluted for a few ounces of weight savings. I find it very noticeable though, it keeps the center of mass closer to the action.
Or - Unbalances it being too Light ? RJ
No such thing as too light for me. Since I’m using a McMillan edge that’s about 5 ounces lighter, the ounces off the barrel compliment it nicely.
The super light in a wildcat or McMillan edge should be 5.5 lbs bare (the wildcat is lighter than the edge). My VX6 is 19 ounces, so I could shave another 8-10 ounces, but it does everything I want it to. The scope weight is near the carry point and keeps the balance neutral also
I've posted it before, but I recently took it out and it renewed my interest in it so I figured I would repost it.
Started as a super light, I added a Remington style recoil lug, stainless bolt shroud, machined a stainless bolt stop, and bottom metal, dovetailed the talleys to actually mate with the receiver and dropped the whole thing into a wildcat composites stock. (I also swapped out thevaction screws for stainless screws, not pictured)

Because you will have difficulties selling a normal safety to a German hunter. Early Mauser rifles already had a firing pin safety and the hunting schools preach that that is safer.Whywhats wrong with the STOCK tikka Safety ? RJ
