Tikka t3 or browning x bolt?

Sounds like exactly the sort of problem they would be looking to figure out and fix with a pre- production trial run.

I used to hunt with a guy who used an xbolt and that was in the wet ass conditions of coastal BC, if he ever had issues with rust he never mentioned it.

how many people are cleaning their trigger group and remove the stock to check?

Good question. I don't know. I know I pull my action from the stock on a regular basis, but I hunt on the BC Coast where if its not raining right now it either just was or is just about to start, and I'm always concerned about rust under the stock where I can't see it. I'm not sure if I'm the exception or the rule with regards to that.

But the fact these Browning employees SWITCHED RIFLES shows me they were not satisfied with the X-bolts they were carrying. I can't imagine they would NOT look into fixing the issue given the circumstances, thats kinda the whole point of taking pre-production guns afield isn't it?

Thanks for that link! I think I may just have to order this. Is stainless really worth the extra money??

Stainless is nice to have, but it's not essential. If I was a coastal hunter I would choose the stainless option. A little rifle maintenance can go a long ways.
Good luck. You'll be very happy with an x-bolt!

I prefer stainless being on the coast but for that price I could live without it. You're looking at probably 400 extra to get stainless, not worth it IMO. Today is the last day of their sale and browning's mail-in rebate. Let us know what you end up with !

Thank you. I'm interior BC so probably fine without the stainless option.

you re putting too much faith in companies ... the best will be to ask the xbolts owners of your area how is the trigger group and see by yourself.
