Tikka T3 - reason for popularity

Cost, accuracy, light, durable, good platform to build off, well made, better tolerances than most others in things that matter (barrel/action alignment).

I have a t3 lite in 270 wsm, bought it way back in 07, I believe. Good gun, I have used it to kill quite a few animals, no complaints really.

I have a few 700s, a ruger Hawkeye, and a sako Finnlight in the safe to compare it to, and it has its place. Currently thinking about going the wildcat stock route with some barrel and bolt fluting to lighten it up a bit, but I am also considering leaving it just like it is.

Overall a good gun, there are a few people that remember what entry to mid level guns were like before the great trigger revolution and now that almost every gun manufacturer is forced to offer at least a half decent trigger people forget that the tikka was one of the first to offer a decent trigger at a great price, and along with the quality of barrel, put the Finnish gun at the front of the pack for a few years.
