Tikka T3 recoil lug question?

Hi all:

I am slowly gathering parts as funds allow for a Tikka T3 build in .300 win mag. I was watching the MDT Tac 21 Tikka installation video and noticed they installed what looked like a blued / anodized recoil lug (depending on material.)

Do MDT's tikka chassis families come with a recoil lug or will a customer need to use the one from the existing stock / buy one?

If they come with one, is it aluminum or steel?

I'm gonna be buying an HS3 for a tikka long action and may shell out for a titanium recoil lug from coretac anyway but was curious about this.

Thank you for any replies

Yes, all our Tikka T3 chassis come with a steel recoil lug. I am not sure that that titanium recoil lug would fit. It looks like it should. I am also not sure that it will make any difference, other than a very small amount in weight.

Wow...thank you for the fast reply...you guys truly rock! That's awesome that they come with a steel one.

I mainly ask because the T3 lite I will be using is in .300 win mag and some guys on tikkashooters.com report the factory aluminum recoil lugs tend to get chewed after 500 rds on average with .300wsm or anything similar in snarkiness. Tikka advises you can flip the recoil lug around to restore bedding if your shots start to randomly wander but I figured starting with a steel one at least would be a smarter idea.

Thank you again for the fast response.
