Seeing as the Tikka T3 lites are built on the same action, could you just change the bolt stop and magazine to make it into a long action? Magazine no problem but where would you buy and how much would the bolt stop cost? It's just set on a pin with a spring, wouldn't take much to change out.

The feed rails on the M and L mags are too wide to handle 223 based cases. If you want to lenghten a 223 to feed VLD's, you need to modify the mag and lengthen the follower (I used epoxy). You'll also probably need a different spring for proper feeding, I had one kicking around from somewhere or other that I modified to fit.

Changing from an M to an L should only require a bolt stop swap

try your Tikka distributor but more than likely you will need a smith or shop to order what you need from Stoeger direct. i'd seriously doubt the WGP has any parts for a T3

why would you want to switch a short to a long action? it defeats the purpose, and is going against why the action was created.
* less travel of the bolt to load and eject shells, while maintaining ballistic peformance*
interesting....

so you can seat heavy bullets out longer. VLD's in a 223 come to mind. It's impossible to seat them to mag length. Im my mind, it's downright stupid to sell an 8" twist 223 (like the tikka), with a short mag (like the tikka)

Especially with a Tikka, as they ALL have long actions anyway. To be held back by nothing more than a quarter inch of plastic.

prosper,

Do you have any pictures of your magazine modifications? I've been dreaming of ways to mag feed a 75Vmax load since I bought my Tikka in 223. I thought it might be easiest to get an 'M' magazine and try build up the feed lips?
