If you are after a T3 Stainless Fluted (I was after one for a long time) all of the Superlites are pretty much gone from the retail market but Wholesale Sports has a Stainless Fluted Hunter in 300WSM on sale for $899 from $1199. Its a pretty decent price for that gun. I actually bought it but then cancelled my order today and bought a Finnlight. Anywho, if anyone is after one.....

All of my T3's just shoot so well out of the box it's hard to find a better gun for the money IMO.

Good heads up. Just got a used one with after market bolt shroud, bolt handle and b and c stock to put it in. Hard to go wrong.

Nice
Enjoy the gun. Like to hear how it shoots when you get it out

I, also have been been considering a T3, (in a .223 laminated stainless). Right now the biggest thing holding me back are the reports I've read of ejector malfunction. Apparently, like the 85,the spent cases eject straight up into the scope and bounce back into the action. Have you ever had this happen to you? or heard of it? Everything else I've read on this firearm are very positive.

I've had a stainless laminate t3 in 25-06 since last February and have never had trouble with cases ejecting into the scope. It's been used in northern b.c. snow, rain and dry weather so far. This is the first I have heard about any ejector problems. The only thing I didn't like was the "plastic " parts but it's not that big of a deal after I got used to it. I'm happy with a decent looking gun that shoots better than I can.

I don't have an ejector issue either. I agree with JP, don't like the plastic parts on the T3 (replaced the shroud with a stainless one, but can't find a stainless bolt stop or safety) but to be honest they just shoot so darn good out of the box it doesnt matter. I have Finnlights and guns that are "better" but for double the cost you are getting very little extra in the accuracy department. Cannot go wrong with a T3

My Tks to 357, jpap & vanc. I was down to the short strokes RE: my first Varmint Rifle. I'm beyond the point of no return now, thanks to your real world experience. (Should make my wife happy too......Hey! she bought me a box of Remington 0.223 55gr.cartridges as an XMAS gift and has been hinting that I've got to keep up with her)
I've yet to lay hands on one yet as No one local stocks the varmint T3 in laminate stainless. I'm thinking I can order one sight unseen from what I've read/heard, now. (And the few Tikka models they do stock that I've shouldered). Been thinking about a Leupold scope with the varmint reticle. Like what I've learned about that Company & its products. I expect to be out in the early morn./ late aft. to try my luck on a coyote pack thats denned back of the property. Would appreciate suggestions to options/accs. that may spring to mind. I'm thinking fast twist rate, slings and a bipod mount, unsure of scope rings though.Who makes a good reliable set that will fit a Tikka T3?

Tikkas are just plain excellent. No frills, but they work well. (most rifle manufacturers utilized polymer parts, no big deal anymore).

I buy all my Tikkas on EE for much less, and the owners usually throw in a few extras. There's still a few good deals on EE as we speak, including a nicely Arma-coated one.

I've owned 7 T3, from .222 Rem to 300WSM never had a ejection issue , and have never heard of the same ejection issue that plagues long action 85 Sako.

357

The only ejection "issue" I have is that my 30-06 chambered Tikka T3 really flings the cases hard, and some of them bounce off the side of the receiver, just behind the ejection port... this has left some little chip marks on my finish.

On my tikka t3 stainless in 7mm mag i do sometimes have the issue with the spent casing hitting the scope. I have a nightforce nxs 5.5-22x56 on mine and with the big turrets it does sometimes catch on the windage turret. What i found is just pull the bolt back at a decent speed and it just throws the case out. Its only when i pull the bolt back slowly does it sometimes bump the scope and fall back into the chamber. My tikka varmint in 223 really throws the case alot more than my 7mag whether i pull the bolt fast or slow (might have to check that out on my 7mm) but there is just a normal hunting scope on it without the big turrets. Love the rifles tho. Super accurate out of the box. Both shooting sub moa alot of the time 1/2 moa when i do my part.
