update. Got my rifle last week. Loving it so far. I ended up putting talley lightweights and a elite 3-9x40 on it. I took it out on saturday and had it shooting <.5" groups at 100 with my first batch of handloads. Only tried sierra 150's so far but have some matrix rbt 168's en route. I have a feeling this will be my go-to rifle come hunting season.

do the lows allow a 40mm objective? I think I will go with talley.

Yes, I have a 3-9x40 Vortex Viper on a T3 in Talley Lightweight lows, I think I could probably go to 42mm or 44mm
