I know there are threads on this rifle but i cant find em.

Anyways i am thinking of getting a t3 tactical in .300 wm and want some in put from owners who have a tactical. Not in specific caliber but the tactical period.
thanks

I have owned to Tik Tacs, both in 308. I have a couple of T3s sitting in my safe right now.

It is my personal belief that Sako and Tikka make the most consistently accurate rifles you can buy. "Ronnie3" here even won a 1000 yard group contest with a totally stock T3 in 7Rem Mag.

They work, they are smoothe, they are accurate and they are well built. Those that ##### about the composite stocks and magazined have never owned them. If you are looking for ONE rifle to which you need do nothing other than add a scope, I say Tik Tac hands down.

That is a very light rifle for use in 300WM and unless you have a very specific purpose for that cartridge, it is only a fast track to barrel burn-out, and using twice the powder for a gain of only ~150-200 fps over a 308

Tikka T3 or any of the Older Tikka shoot pretty Accurate, but you can tune up a rem700to shoot abit better, even with factory barrel. Match chamber help.

I use to own/shoot a T3 lite in a .338 win mag, CRAZY recoil on that #####. Probably put 3-400 rounds down her throat then sold it. Now I regret it cuz I want a mate for the new tac i have coming in.
Barrel burn out? How many rounds is that gonna take though.

about 20-30k is my guess

soo your saying it takes 20 000 rnds to burn out a .300WM barrel?

do you shoot ur barrels till they literally wear threw? the accurate life of a .300 barrel is more like 2000 depending on how hot you load. then they start to become "hunting accurate" and no longer target accurate

I am surprised you are getting back into a .300wm after letting go that very nice Remy XCR in AICS :D

Anyway, to your question - I have not owned a Tic Tac but have owned a Tikka T3 Varmint which is darn close. Pros v Cons as I see it: Pros = very accurate for a factory rifle, super smooth bolt, excellent fit and finish and nice trigger. Cons = some people think the stock is a bit light.

I know, i am kinda smacking myself now over that deal.
I love that caliber for some reason. Ya the tikka stock does kinda suck too but i plan on getting an aftermarket one to make it a bit better.
I love my tikka lite and i think(after what i read) i will enjoy the tactical very mich.

Thanks guys looks like its ordered.

20 to 30 thousand?????? This is why people really need to remember what they paid for their advice on anonymous internet forums, and that speaking face to face with experienced shooters is a far safer strategy

300WM - count on 1300 - 1500 accurate rounds at most. They are barrel burners.
