tikka t3 upgrade

I bought a t3 lite in 300 win mag a little while back. I'm looking to change out the bolt handle for something a little bigger. I was looking at the Atlas kit with the shroud included. Wondering if that was the right way to go or if anyone else has any input.

Don't recall the name of it but there is an aftermarket knob you screw I to the end of the stock bolt. It's threaded inside the bolt.

I really like the plastic knob add on from the factory, but they are a huge rip off.

I've got the oversize Atlas bolt handle and shroud. I like them...bolt handle is really large, can be tricky to fit in a Kolpin case etc. Only thing I'd prefer is for the handle to be a bit grippier. Good luck.

I did the new bolt hand and shroud kit from Coretac. I like it.

I think tikkashooters.com has one that's knurled.

I was thinking about picking up a tikka t3 in 300 win mag.
How hard is the recoil on it? I have shot it before from a different rifle and was not botherd by it and was wondering if it carried over to the tikka

A .300 win mag would feel like a slug gun I'm guessing out of a T3, I have one in 30-06 and it's pretty noticeable. Got rid of the hockey puck recoil pad and that helped a lot but it still bucks.

T3 super lite, lite, or varmint?? Will be a big difference from the 6lb superlite to the 8lb varmint.

I have a .300WSM in a varmint and I'm more than happy to carry the extra weight to limit that abuse. Our .308 lite's are abusive enough.

A brake would help too, but has downsides as well (noise).

An acquaintance has a laminate stocked T3 in .338 WM split the stock [not on a leadsled] after less than a 100 rounds.He's afraid of it and should have got a standard caliber as suggested but it was an ego thing..........Harold
