Tikka T3 Varmint stainless 300 WM

There are a lot of guys on here (myself included) who will swear by their Tikkas. They are one of the most accurate out of the box rifles. There was a thread recently about factory triggers being only so so and that many people had to swap in an aftermarket trigger. The Tikka was one of the very few exceptions to this. For the MOA guarantee, you are right. They don't leave the factory in Finland unless they can do a 3 shot group at 100yrds MOA.

I second that. Best out-of-box accuracy i've ever found. I have a t-3 tactical that has quarter minute accuracy with the right loads. Action like silk.

Tikka has the smoothest bolt action of any bolt gun I've tried, including high-priced pieces like Sauer 202.

I got to cycle a sauer 202 for the first time the weekend and have worked the action on a few tikka's. Yes the tikka's are good, but god did I love the sauer. I can't descride how smooth it was.

My next target rifle will certinaly be a tikka though. I'm not into the serious target shooting like many people here but for the price and what I'm doing I'm going with a tikka.

I am not even going to try to suggest that they are the smoothest action ever as I deal in custom actions that make the Tikka look rough and sloppy. For the money they are a smoking deal. I have one to use for checking inlets but I am going to shoot it soon to see what it can do. I am quite impressed so far. Trigger feels great. When I do shoot it I will report, both in the original stock and eventually in one of ours.

I like the T3, real nice bolt action with nice triggers out of the box. The plastic isnt too great on the bolt shroud, trigger guard, magazine etc, and the price of another magazine is retarded, but overall they're great.

a T3 varmint in 300 Mag would be a wicked Sendero gun for anything in Canada

What do you guys think of these guns? Are they as smooth as the Sako action? What about accuracy, I have heard they have a MOA guarantee? Thanks for the input.

Don't get your hopes too high. The T3 Varmint only comes in 308, 22-250 and 223. If Stoeger Canada can order a 300 WM for you it will be months before you can get it.

I have the 223 version in T3 Varmint and it is 1/2 MOA rifle. The action is pretty smooth, but it has a lot of free play. Can't comment on the Sauer. I think the Browning action is smoother than the T3.

Steoger Canada buys from Beretta USA. This what Beretta USA web site says: http://www.berettausa.com/product/product_rifles_main.htm

If Wholesales Sports has a 300WM on the shelf it must be some old stock. I suggest you take it right away.

If you are thinking using it for hunting, the rifle plus the scope is well over 9 lbs - not something you want to carry around all day.

One thing for sure, T3 is damn accurate out of the box - second to none.
