Ok i was comparing the T3 Tactical and Varmint on thier website, both with the 24" barrel and .308. Aside from the threaded Barrel what is the differance between these 2 rifels and is it worth the extra $600 to buy the tactical?

If you buy the Varmint, and then add a brake, you might as well go for the Tactical, as you are so close to the cost by the time you add an aftermarket brake. Then you will also get the faster twist barrel, and the picatinny rail too.

Actually the Extra Cost of $600 will not make a shooter shoot better, but if you really Need the Cheek Adjustment, Picani Rail, Tread Barrel, than it is Worthed, I got one in 308, but didn't put on Muzzle break yet, it shoot in haft inchs with federal Gold Match 308-168HPBT, compare with my Rem700 PSS, it is a little lighter gun Than the PSS, and shooting the 308 caliber might bother some people, so a muzzle break is a good thing to have, Beside the The Tactical got a kick ass SKIN...

The Twist Rate in .308 is the same on the varmint and the Tactical, according to the Data Sheets. The picatinny rail might be nice, but wondering how much more $1600+the cost of the threaded on break, would be to just adding a muzzle break to the $1000 varmint Rifle.

I was quoted 260 cdn just for the brake on my tactical so we can assume the break cost is the same. Really the only price difference would be the threading and the threading cap with if I recall a quote I had was $175.00 for both, so the varmint is still cheaper.
As for the weaver rings, thats what is mounted on my rail with no problem. I thought Picatinny rail could use Weaver and Piccatinny rings but the Weaver rail could only use Weaver rings.

I have the .308 T3 tac and I love it. It is a one hole gun @ 100 and it has a decided preference for heavier bullets.
Out of the box it is a great rifle and needs nothing more than optics,
At the time I chose it for its light trigger, the factory rail and the "look".
For the same money as the TikTac, however, you could have a deadly accurate, long-range custom 308 built on an accurized factory action if you opted for reasonably priced components (ie rem 700 action/trigger, Boyd stock). You'd just have to wait a bit longer, but you could have the gun built to do exactly what you want.
It is another option to consider if it primarily accuracy you want.

Tactical trigger adjustment
Can anyone help me with the trigger adjustment on the tactical. I found the set screw and ther is a bigger hex screw perpendicular to it that stops the set screw from being turned counter-clockwise to much. Is therre anymore adjustment?
As well, the manual says there is a single stage trigger feature that allows the trigger to be set at 7-9oz by pushing the trigger forward. I cna't seem to make this happen. Any ideas?
