Is the 223 CTR available yet? Sako Product manager mentioned they had solved the 223 CTR mag issue. The CTR would be a bit lighter than the Varmint. Even with a carbon tactical stock only around 3.4kg.

I will also add that, if possible, you should go to your local gun shop and handle a few rifles in your price range. Try a variety from different manufacturers to see what you think of the build quality, fit and finish, etc. Personally I’ve owned Tikka, Ruger, Remington, Savage, Browning and others. For a basic gun (ie: not a custom and not costing more than 1500$) you will find that Tikka delivers excellent quality and value for the money. Browning does as well but there is very little aftermarket support.
I miss my TRG’s trigger / safety but that’s about it. The Bravo stock is far superior. Similar in design with the full length aluminum bedding rail. The accessories for it are what make it so superior. The TRG has sling swivels and an Anchutz rail. The KRG has MLOC and they sell all kinds of interchangeable fore-ends as well as Arca rail add ons. I also really like the feel of the Bravo. It fits me very well.
Weight was a factor for me as well and I’ve discovered that I prefer a more tradition A5 style stock.
You are able to stabilize the 90s? Thanks
I shot a PRS match last summer in Valcartier out to 900m with a bone stock t3x varmint in 308. They are very accurate rifles (about 0.5MOA with 175gr GMM) and when you reload you can get even better results.
I find that the barrel weight is sufficient for shooting fast 10-12 strings in a PRS stage without effecting accuracy.
Only down side are the factory magazines are expensive to buy. If you change the bottom metal to take aics mags or buy a chasis then that will help if thats a need that you have.
Nice shooting. Still haven’t picked a varmint up yet but it’s on the list.
FWIW I have the T3x lite version it is perfectly balanced - I handled the Varmint version and to me it felt top heavy - just my two cents
ctr stock and bottom and other than tikka mag maybe your answer ...
