Hello

I am trying to decide between a tikka t3 or a browning hells canyon speed

I have had a t3, but not a hells canyon and am wondering about the cerekote finish and how it stands up to the elements.

would love some reviews and thought

thank you

I have and had both T3 and x-bolts (not hells canyon). I do have a lever action in cerakote though. Cerakote is quite durable and I don't see any wear issues on a bolt gun. The lever loading gate has shown some wear on mine but that's to be expected. T3's are nice rifles however I am prone to the brownings personally.

I've never had a cerakote finished rifle but there seems to be more and more of them showing up as regular production models, so that likely means the finishes are delivering as promised.

As for T3 vs x-bolt, I don't think you can go too far wrong with either.

I think you are getting a better value out of the Browning vs the Tikka. Tikka is slightly overpriced for the build quality you are getting, and Browning you are getting a better made rifle for your $$.

Tikka will have more aftermarket support, both seem to be well made but I like to tinker and customize, for that reason I’d pick the Tikka.

No bad choices. Handle both if you can before purchase. I prefer the slim ergos of the Browning as well as their tang safety, flush mounted mag and 3 lug bolt.
If you go Browning, consider a cheap trigger mod. I dropped a $13 MCarbo aftermarket trigger spring in my XBolt with stellar results.

Although I own mostly Tikka rifles, they are outstanding, I prefer the stocks and options of the Browning XBolts. My nod would go to them. I had one in .223 years back and regret selling it. (stainless stalker)

I had a tikka t3 hunter and a browning xbolt both at the same time, price close to each other, Browning feels much nicer. tikka was a good value to worth gun, but the price had gone up and now, in the same price range, it can not beat bowning anymore. or, should I say, tikka is over priced nowdays, it should stay cheap as before.

similar accuracy, much nice on browning, I sold my tikka t3

Tikka's were the most cost effective way to get an accurate light weight set up but in the last few years they have almost doubled in price.
Browning has been quietly getting a lot of stuff right and making rifles for hunters not target shooters so a lot of the aftermarket support isn't there but they also offer models that check most boxes folks want from a factory rifle for various disciplines.
